Renewal of ePrescriptions

You can request renewal of the electronic ePrescription with us free of charge. If the prescriber accepts electronic prescription renewal requests, we forward the renewal request to them. The processing time is usually a maximum of 8 days. If you wish, we can request a free text message to your phone about renewing the prescription.

You can check electronic prescriptions in the Kanta service at omakanta.fi or you can request to renew your prescriptions free of charge through Kanta services, as long as you have your own online banking credentials.

Automated dose dispensing (ADD)

We offer our customers a automated dose dispensing service for medicines. The pharmacy checks the customer’s total medication and delivers regularly used tablets and capsules packed in single-dose plastic bags. The service is ideal for people who take regular medication. With the help of dose distribution, you ensure safe drug treatment also for, for example, your aging loved one. You can ask our pharmacy for more information about our dose delivery service.

Reception of medical waste

Do not throw away old medicines, instead, always take them to the pharmacy (apteekki), because they are hazardous waste.

Ship’s Medical store

In May 2015 Finnish government legislated an act (584/2015) and decree (589/2015) on ship’s medical stores. In which vessels are categorized in four different vessel categories (A-D). In the legislation new requirements were added to vessels carrying dangerous goods. In the new legislation it is ruled that all vessels (including vessels belonging to category D) must be inspected by a person who has a master’s degree in pharmacy and is certified in Finland.

All vessels belonging to categories A, B and C must have an inspection made for their medical stores every year and vessels belonging to category D must be inspected every three years. The certificate given in the inspection is mandatory document in vessel’s routine vehicle inspection.

You can order a Ship’s Medical store inspection from Ruoholahden Uusi Apteekki to all types of vessels. All our medical store inspections are carried out by a person certified to do such inspection by the Finnish law. We can also do minor re-fills to medical stores between the yearly check-ups.

We always choose the products that are the most economical to our clients. It is included in our inspection service that all the outdated medicines are carried away for destruction.
